The fashion at this year’s Met Gala was tooooo good. I have so many favorites. And not that I didn’t know this before yesterday, but LA. DY. GA. MOTHER. EFFING. GA. She is perfect. Every minute of her 12-minute entrance and every outfit she donned was impeccable. And the fact that she wore her longtime friend, and one of my favorite designers of all time, Brandon Marshall, made it even more special. The theme was Camp: Notes on Fashion. And no, not what you’re thinking (and what I also thought when I first heard it) … tents and canteens and such, but camp as in exaggerated fashion. The exhibit is inspired by Susan Sontag's 1964 essay that defines camp as "love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration." Essentially, this theme means EXTRA. My favorites who went WENT there, below.
